Our mission is to promote healing and growth in children, young adults and families by providing a continuum of care, support, and resources.
The Settlement Home for Children (The Home) is a licensed nonprofit organization that serves individuals who have experienced severe emotional trauma, abuse and neglect. We provide 24-hour care to help children in foster care access the materials and support they need to restore and preserve a permanent sense of well-being. Our mission is to promote healing and growth in children, young adults and families by providing a continuum of care, support and resources.
Each of our programs builds a foundation for children so that they can develop a set of skills and beliefs that lead to self-efficacy. The support we provide includes taking care of children’s therapeutic counseling, emotional needs and physical health, providing nourishing meals and recreational activities, helping them develop healthy relationships and supporting their academic growth. Child well-being is strengthened over time with resources like a safe, structured, caring environment and by teaching the life skills that allow individuals to live healthy, productive lives.
